Homeopathic Remedies

Homeopathic Medicine:

A system of alternative medicine that treats a disease especially by the administration of minute doses of a remedy that would in larger amounts produce symptoms in healthy persons similar to those of the disease 

Homeopathic products come from plants (such as red onion, arnica [mountain herb], poison ivy, belladonna [deadly nightshade], and stinging nettle), minerals (such as white arsenic), or animals (such as crushed whole bees). Homeopathic products are often made as sugar pellets to be placed under the tongue, may also be in forms, such as ointments, gels, drops, creams, and tablets. Treatments are “individualized” or tailored to each person—it’s common for different people with the same condition to receive different treatments. Homeopathy uses a different diagnostic system for assigning treatments to individuals and recognizes clinical patterns of signs and symptoms that are different from those of conventional medicine.

Persistent symptoms may be a sign of a serious condition. If symptoms persist or are accompanied by a fever, rash, or persistent headache, consult a doctor. Keep out of the reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a poison control center right away. If pregnant or breastfeeding, ask a healthcare professional before use.
